You can recognize it anywhere, that iconic little jar often forgotten at the bottom of a bathroom drawer. Long reserved for dry lips, Vaseline actually has far more uses than you might imagine. Simple, economical, and reassuring, it transcends generations without ever going out of style… and my grandmother already understood that it could be used for much more than we've always been told. Here are 10 clever tips, with the right quantities, that many people still don't know.
A discreet but formidably effective ally

Vaseline acts as a protective barrier that helps the skin retain its natural moisture. It doesn't directly nourish the skin, but it limits water loss, providing immediate comfort and visibly protected skin.

To brighten up dull areas
Quantity :
✓ ½ grain of rice , mixed with the fresh juice of a slice of lemon (1 to 2 drops maximum)
Apply a tiny amount to the tops of your cheekbones or dry areas in the evening. Gently pat until partially absorbed.
Important precaution : lemon is photosensitizing, so this application should only be done in the evening , on intact skin, and never before sun exposure.

Reduce the tired appearance of the eye contour
Quantity :
- approximately 0.02 g of petroleum jelly (equivalent to ¼ of a grain of rice )
- 1 drop , or approximately 0.03 ml , of mild vegetable oil (sweet almond or jojoba)
Mix between your fingers and apply by tapping under the eye, only in the evening.

Smooth the appearance of dehydration lines
Quantity :
- ½ grain of rice per area
Apply a very thin layer to slightly damp skin, before bedtime, on the affected areas.

Replacing a lip balm in an emergency
Quantity :
- 1 grain of rice
Warm it between your fingers and apply to your lips. There's no need to use more: Vaseline is very occlusive.
